Short answers to the questions we hear most

Before you choose an ERP

Start with the processes, not the software. Write down how an order moves today, from enquiry to payment, and mark every place where someone re-types data or waits for a spreadsheet.

Decide who owns each process on your side. An ERP project goes faster when one person can answer for sales, one for stores and one for accounts.

Ask any vendor to show your own flow, with your own product names, before you sign.

What an ERP fixes

Odoo Community or Odoo Enterprise?

Community is open source, with no per-user subscription to Odoo SA. Its core apps cover sales, CRM, purchase, inventory, invoicing and manufacturing, and it runs on your own server or a cloud of your choice.

Enterprise is licensed per user by Odoo SA. It adds apps such as full Accounting, Studio and Barcode, plus official upgrades and hosting options.

Neither edition is better for everyone. Choose by the applications you need, your budget and how you want to run the system.

Preparing your data for migration

Clean masters first: customers, vendors, products and units of measure. Duplicates and inconsistent names cause most migration problems.

Agree a cut-off date. Bring opening stock and open balances as of that date, and decide how much history you really need in the new system.

Keep the old system read-only for a while after go-live, so nobody has to guess where a past record went.

What go-live week looks like

Opening balances and stock are loaded, users log in with their own roles, and the first real orders, receipts and invoices go through the new system.

Expect questions. We stay close to the team during the first days to fix small gaps quickly, so nobody falls back to the old sheets.

At the end of the week, compare the first reports with the old figures and close any differences before month-end.
